Service Description

Surrounded by apple trees growing genetics-of-old, you will experience a true, candlelit farm to table dining experience under the stars in our preservation orchard here at Athol Orchards. With an abundant feast consisting of hyper-local ingredients ( if we didn't grow it ourselves, ingredients will be sourced from farms within a 10-15 mile radius), we will gather to not only nourish our tummies and spirits but to also raise glasses to the harvest. The sharing of the stories and flavors of the historic apples that make our preservation orchard so special will be the absolute highlight of the evening. Invited into our center preservation orchard during the golden hour of Autumn, you will be welcomed by an-awe inspiring spread on an expansive, single row of beautiful hand hewn farm tables. The tables will be decked out with seasonal, locally grown flowers, pumpkins, and an abundance of golden candlelight. To kick off the evening, Nikki will lead the gathering with the focal point of our History Harvest, the apple tasting and storytelling. Of the most curious varieties produced this season, each guest will be presented with a sampling of apple slices. With each tasting, a rich story will be provided; who discovered and named the variety and in what year, where does it come from, and what were they historically grown for. Many of the apples grown at Athol Orchards have great historical significance. We aim to share that critical knowledge so that these apples will not be forgotten. The evening will then continue with an authentic North Idaho farm table experience featuring our very own orchard-raised chicken and forest-raised heritage pork, along with sublime mixed green salads, a candied pecan sweet potato casserole, raw honey-roasted carrots, fresh locally baked sourdough, and a swoon-worthy dessert baked just for such an occasion. An assortment of local brews and hard ciders along with other autumnal beverages will be available as well. The sound of local musicians will gently dance throughout the trees, providing an intimate atmosphere not soon to be forgotten. Our orchard dinners are perfect for date nights, company groups, an evening out with your girlfriends, a man's night out, we've even hosted families celebrating milestone birthdays. Even if the occasion is to simply come out and enjoy a beautiful Autumn evening, we hope you will come celebrate the harvest with us.
